Football Recap: Northwest Skates Past Manhattan with Ease + How To Watch

Northwest faced Manhattan in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Grizzlies really took it to the Indians for the full four quarters, racking up a 40-13 victory. Considering the Grizzlies have won four contests by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Augie Fast produced another solid performance rushing for 254 yards and three TDs while picking up 14.9 yards per carry. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 121.3 rushing yards per game.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Northwest was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 330 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 152 rushing yards in 11 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Northwest didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jamari Bland and Cordale Johnson. Johnson also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with six. Bland got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Northwest's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Manhattan, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Coming up, Northwest will head out to face off against South at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Manhattan, they will welcome Topeka at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
