Soccer Game Preview: Valdosta vs. Camden County

Valdosta is 0-5 against Camden County since February of 2023 but things could change on Friday. We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. Valdosta has given up an average of 5.1 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Valdosta came up short against Colquitt County on Tuesday, falling 6-2. Things were pretty much settled by the half as the Wildcats were already down 4-0.

Meanwhile, while the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was Camden County who was credited with the victory on Tuesday. Camden County got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Effingham County's three. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Rebels are ranked 233rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Camden County's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four matchups. As for Valdosta, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
