Football Recap: Laurel Spartans vs. Eleanor Roosevelt Raiders
After flying high against Bladensburg last Saturday, Laurel came back down to earth. The Spartans had to suffer through a 35-0 loss at the hands of the Eleanor Roosevelt Raiders. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Demerius Custis threw for 91 yards on ten of 23 attempts. Jaziah Ragan was his top target, picking up 50 receiving yards.
A big part of Eleanor Roosevelt's win came down to the chemistry between Jaleel Holeman and his top target Donte Whitaker. Holeman rushed for 73 yards and one TD on only nine carries while Whitaker gained 81 total yards and two touchdowns.
Laurel's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Eleanor Roosevelt, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.
