Baseball Recap: Lanier Christian Academy Starts off Right with Win over Johnson Ferry Christian Academy

Lanier Christian Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victor by an 8-0 margin over the Johnson Ferry Christian Academy Saints on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lightning also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Tres Criste was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in February of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three).

In other batting news, Gavin Strabala was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Owen Tedder, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Lanier Christian Academy will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Trinity Classical at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Johnson Ferry Christian Academy, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against Pinecrest Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
