Basketball Recap: Hempfield's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak at Home

Hempfield got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 39-37 victory over the Cedar Crest Falcons on Monday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Black Knights' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 476th, while the Falcons are ranked 214th).

Hempfield's victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-7. As for Cedar Crest, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-6.

Hempfield will challenge Manheim Township at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cedar Crest has already played their next game (against J.P. McCaskey), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
