Softball Recap: Marion County Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Marion County strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Miller County Pirates. Five seems to be a good number for the Eagles as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Lindsay Bagley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Bagley was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Addie Underwood was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That run marked the first that she has scored this season. Another player making a difference was Taner Tyler, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Marion County hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters every time they've taken the field this season.

Marion County's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Miller County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marion County will welcome Lamar County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Miller County, they will challenge Cairo at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
