St. Bernard had lost three straight, but after bumping their record up to 8-6 on Sunday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Ledyard Colonels, sneaking past 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Saints have posted since April 11th.

As for Ledyard, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-4. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games.

For Ledyard's part, Jake Nenna was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Nenna has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ledyard saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Spinner, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.
