Baseball Recap: Kecoughtan Triumphs

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Kecoughtan ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Woodside Wolverines 6-5. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Kecoughtan got a great performance from Kyle Kauffman as he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts Kauffman has posted since back in March.

On the hitting side, Kason Boone was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Francis, who went 2-for-5 with two doubles and one run.

Kecoughtan's win bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Woodside, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Kecoughtan beat the Wolverines by a score of 6-5 later that day.
