McIntosh is 1-9 against Northgate since September of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Chiefs will look to defend their home field against the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
McIntosh's last matchup with Union Grove could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Wednesday. The Chiefs came up short against the Wolverines, falling 10-4.
Gracey Mustain was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 18 runs the game before, Northgate was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They lost 9-2 to East Coweta. The defeat continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost four in a row.
Northgate also got a good showing from Kylie Pack, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Pack has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Northgate saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trinity Hargrett, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
McIntosh's loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Northgate, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-7.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. McIntosh has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .466. However, it's not like Northgate struggles in that department as they've averaged .474. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
McIntosh might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from Northgate in their previous matchup back in September. Will the Chiefs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
