Basketball Recap: Truckee Comes Up Short

Truckee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a blow against the South Tahoe Vikings, falling 46-7. The Wolverines were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 25-5.

Campbell Mathews continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for South Tahoe, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards. Mathews has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Carly Cox was another key player, putting up nine points and four steals.

Truckee's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for South Tahoe, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Truckee will challenge Hug at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Tahoe, they will take on Sparks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
