Baseball Game Preview: San Ysidro Cougars vs. Eastlake Titans

For the second straight game, San Ysidro will face off against Eastlake. The Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Titans at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The last five games San Ysidro has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

San Ysidro took a loss when they played away from home on April 9th, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They skirted past Eastlake 5-3.

San Ysidro got a great performance from Carlos Gomez as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Gomez has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Axel Reyes was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Armann Robles, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

San Ysidro's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Eastlake, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-7-1.
