Softball Recap: Valliant Comes Up Short

Valliant and Dewey squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Valliant had to settle for second. They came up short against the Bulldoggers, falling 14-1. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldoggers earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

Valliant saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kinley Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Valliant's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Dewey, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-8 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Valliant beat Dewey by a score of 4-3 later that day.
