Soccer Recap: Elk Grove Comes Up Short

Elk Grove lost against Cosumnes Oaks two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Elk Grove Thundering Herd lost 5-0 to the Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack. While losing is never fun, the Thundering Herd can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 833rd, while the Wolfpack are ranked 252nd).

Elk Grove's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-9-2. As for Cosumnes Oaks, their win bumped their record up to 8-6-3.

Elk Grove will venture away from home to face off against Sheldon at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Elk Grove is facing Sheldon at the right time seeing as Sheldon is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Cosumnes Oaks, they will look to defend their home pitch on Monday against Laguna Creek at 6:00 p.m. Cosumnes Oaks will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Laguna Creek will have lost three straight heading into Monday's contest.
