Softball Recap: Dawson County Tigers vs. Sequoyah Chiefs

Dawson County had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Sequoyah on Saturday. The Tigers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Chiefs a 6-0 shutout. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 18-4 victory the Chiefs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2021.

Not much got past Madison Dudney, who gave up just five hits to keep Sequoyah off the board.

On the hitting side, Hannah Walden was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Kaelyn Utech was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Dawson County's win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Coincidentally, Dawson County and Sequoyah will both be playing Lambert the next time they take the field. The Chiefs will head out to face the Longhorns at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Tigers will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
