Softball Game Preview: Service Cougars vs. Dimond Lynx

Service hasn't had much luck against Dimond recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cougars will be playing at home against the Lynx at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Service is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: South Anchorage, who was ranked third at the time (Service was ranked 14th). The Cougars lost 15-0 to the Wolverines on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Dimond came up short against Chugiak on Wednesday, falling 14-5. The Lynx have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Jalessa Alenepi was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Katie MacDonald was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI.

Service's loss dropped their record down to 0-5-1. As for Dimond, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
