Basketball Recap: Cumberland Valley Victorious

Cumberland Valley's game on Friday was all tied up 16-16 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 40-38 win over the Central Dauphin East Panthers. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 198th, while the Panthers are ranked 398th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sienna Manns continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 of 13 on her way to 16 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Sines, who posted 11 points.

Cumberland Valley's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-7. As for Central Dauphin East, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Cumberland Valley will venture away from home to face off against Carlisle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central Dauphin East, they will host Central Dauphin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
