Basketball Recap: Barstow Comes Up Short

Barstow won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Wednesday. They took a blow against the Victor Valley Jackrabbits, falling 54-27. The Aztecs were down 36-13 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Barstow's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emily Franco, who posted 11 points. Emersyn Ebel was another key player, putting up five points and 12 rebounds.

Victor Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Eden Roberts out in front who earned 15 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Eris Roberts, who scored 15 points and four steals.

Barstow has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Victor Valley, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Barstow will head out to challenge Silverado at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Victor Valley, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Miller at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
