Basketball Recap: Diego Rivera Piles Up the Points Against Horace Mann UCLA Community

It's playoff time, and Diego Rivera had no trouble coming through when it counted. They took their matchup on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 59-8 victory over the Horace Mann UCLA Community Panthers. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 24 points or more this season.

Leading Diego Rivera to victory were Brianna Collins and Desiree Aguillon. Collins posted 29 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals, while Aguillon put up 18 points in addition to six steals and five assists. Collins is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last 41 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Da'Leja Dodd, who scored eight points and six boards.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Diego Rivera was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Diego Rivera is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.7 points over those games. Horace Mann UCLA Community has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.
