Recap: Montgomery Aztecs vs. Chula Vista Spartans
The Montgomery Aztecs can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 76-40 win over Chula Vista. Winning may never get old, but Montgomery sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Montgomery's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Whitehead, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Whitehead continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Genevieve Whitehead was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with four steals.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Malissa Mckoy, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 17 rebounds. Mckoy hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Isis Perez, who scored six points.
Montgomery has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season. As for Chula Vista, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-16 record this season.
Montgomery does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Chula Vista also has no future games currently scheduled.
