Softball Recap: Rock Canyon Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Rock Canyon fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Pueblo Central on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 10-9. The Jaguars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2021.

Avery Cochran and Delaney Mimless stepped up to the plate in a big way. Cochran went 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Mimless got on base in four of her six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucy Longmire, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Rock Canyon now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Pueblo Central, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coincidentally, Rock Canyon and Pueblo Central will both be playing Coronado the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will head out to face the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Jaguars will head out to face them at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
