Basketball Game Preview: Notre Dame Titans vs. Carter Lions

The Notre Dame Titans are taking a road trip to face off against the Carter Lions on Tuesday. Notre Dame is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

Notre Dame will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Aquinas, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Notre Dame narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Aquinas 31-29. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 434th, while the Falcons are ranked 938th), the result on Monday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Carter challenged Hawthorne on Saturday. Carter breezed by Hawthorne to the tune of 63-10. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 31 points or more this season.

Notre Dame's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 15.8 points. As for Carter, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-3.

Notre Dame came up short against Carter in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 40-36. Can Notre Dame avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
