Basketball Recap: Troy Skates Past North Penn-Mansfield with Ease

Troy won the last time they faced North Penn-Mansfield and things went their way on Friday too. The Troy Trojans breezed by the North Penn-Mansfield Tigers to the tune of 71-30. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Troy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kailyn Sterling, who went 5 of 10 en route to 11 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists. Sterling has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Giana Renzi, who went 7 for 12 on her way to 18 points.

Sterling wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Troy was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Troy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35.5 points. As for North Penn-Mansfield, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Troy will be playing at home against Sayre at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Troy is facing Sayre at the right time seeing as Sayre is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. North Penn-Mansfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
