Softball Recap: Platteview Wins Going Away Against Omaha North

Platteview's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They put the hurt on the Omaha North Vikings with a sharp 13-4 win. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Reese Lingle made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in September of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Savanna Alloway was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, two stolen bases, and three runs. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in August of 2024. Another player making a difference was McKenna Myers, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Platteview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Platteview now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Omaha North, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Platteview didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-2 win against Ponca on the 5th. As for Omaha North, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Burke at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.71 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
