The home team had won the previous three meetings between Harrison Central and Poplarville, and Harrison Central kept the tradition alive. The Red Rebels skirted past the Hornets 6-4. This was payback for the Red Rebels, who suffered a 5-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Harrison Central's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Braylee Watkins, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Harrison Central's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Poplarville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Harrison Central will venture away from home to face off against Long Beach at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Poplarville, they will take on West Harrison at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
