Softball Recap: Hart County's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Hart County had lost four games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 4-3 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Washington-Wilkes Tigers. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

As for Washington-Wilkes, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered since September 4, 2024.

For Washington-Wilkes' part, Molly Dawson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Dawson is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Annabel Cox, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Looking ahead, Hart County will head out to challenge Greenbrier at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Washington-Wilkes, they will welcome Oglethorpe County at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
