Football Recap: Paola Comes Up Short

Paola lost against Spring Hill back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Panthers came up short against the Broncos, falling 56-34. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (33), the Panthers still had to take the loss.

Spring Hill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hank Kotchavar led the charge by rushing for 186 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Kotchavar's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 103 rushing yards. Another rusher making a difference was Maysen Dodson, who gained 169 total yards and two touchdowns.

Paola's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Spring Hill, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Paola will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Eudora at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. As for Spring Hill, they will venture away from home to face off against Emporia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Broncos are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
