Englewood took a 14-run loss the last time they faced off against Jefferson Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pirates had just enough and edged out the Jaguars 14-13. The victory was familiar territory for the Pirates, who have now won four games in a row.

Englewood's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Jefferson Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Coming up, Englewood will head out on the road to take on Arvada at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season. As for Jefferson Academy, they will take on Alameda in a tournament on Friday. The Pirates have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.57 runs per game on average), something the Jaguars will no doubt try to take advantage of.
