Baseball Game Preview: East Central Eagles vs. Rush City Tigers

East Central hasn't had much luck against Rush City recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m.

On Friday, East Central came up short against Hinckley-Finlayson and fell 7-3.

Dane Swenson was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for East Central: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 5-7 otherwise. Swenson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rush City). They came out on top against Mora on Friday by a score of 6-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Rush City saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Easton Goebel, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Those two hits gave Goebel a new career-high. Collin Guy also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Rush City's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-12. As for East Central, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
