Softball Recap: Golden's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Golden entered their tilt with Conifer on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Lobos 16-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-2 back in September.

Adrianna Riddle was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Golden got a massive performance out of Lucca Merz, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and three RBI while going 4-for-4. Those two home runs gave Merz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Reagan Smith, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

Golden lost a few balls and finished the game with five home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Golden's record is now 13-5. As for Conifer, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
