Baseball Recap: Amherst Comes Up Short

If Amherst was feeling good fresh off their 8-0 takedown of Weyauwega-Fremont on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons fell just short of the Bonduel Bears by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. The Falcons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Amherst saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Hintz, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

The defeat snapped Amherst's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 16-8 record. As for Bonduel, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Amherst will welcome Wautoma at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bonduel, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Coleman at 4:30 p.m. on June 2.
