Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Mill Creek

While Mill Creek's victory against Duluth wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hawks had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 6-4. The win was familiar territory for the Hawks, who have now won three games in a row.

Bethany Sottnick spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Carsen Faber, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Laila Torres, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.

Mill Creek's record now sits at 16-9. As for Duluth, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.

Mill Creek will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Lakeside at 5:30 p.m. As for Duluth, they will venture away from home to face off against Lambert at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
