Soccer Recap: Grant Comes Up Short

Grant lost against McClatchy back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Grant Pacers fell just short of the McClatchy Lions by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Pacers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 638th, while the Lions are ranked 204th).

Grant's goal came courtesy of Izabella Cortez, who's now up to six this season.

Grant is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5-1. As for McClatchy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3-2 record this season.

Grant has already played their next contest, a 5-0 defeat against Kennedy on the 21st. As for McClatchy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Antelope on the 21st.
