Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Canton's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Canton hadn't done well against Northeast Bradford recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Canton Warriors snuck past the Northeast Bradford Panthers with a 45-41 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Warriors' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 356th, while the Panthers are ranked 139th).

Canton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kendall Kitchen out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 boards. Kitchen is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Cailyn Vannoy, who posted 12 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.

Canton is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Northeast Bradford, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-3.

Canton will take on North Penn-Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Canton will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Northeast Bradford, they will face off against Sayre at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northeast Bradford is facing Sayre at the right time seeing as Sayre is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
