Basketball Game Preview: Shannon Red Raiders vs. West Point Green Wave

The Shannon Red Raiders are taking a road trip to challenge the West Point Green Wave at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shannon has given up an average of 55.2 points per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Saturday, Shannon came up short against Calhoun City and fell 61-51. The loss continues a trend for the Red Raiders in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, West Point put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 45-40 W against Amory.

Shannon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for West Point, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Shannon came up short against West Point when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 48-43. Can the Red Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
