Soccer Recap: Ripon Christian Triumphs

After failing to score in their last game, Ripon Christian made sure to put some goals up on the board against Hughson on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Hughson Huskies a 4-0 shutout. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Knights' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

They hit Hughson with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Alanna Blanco, Paige Van Hofwegen, Naomi Hendricks, and Addison Dejong.

Ripon Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-3-1. As for Hughson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ripon Christian will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Big Valley Christian at 4:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Big Valley Christian's defense has only allowed 0.5 goals per game this season, so Ripon Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them. Hughson will also get a bit of a break before their next matchup: they'll face off against Johansen at 3:30 p.m. on December 30th.
