Softball Recap: Holyoke Dragons vs. Burlington Cougars
Holyoke extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-4. They lost 15-3 to the Burlington Cougars. The Dragons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
Holyoke saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sarah Schlachter, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Alexa Kinoshita also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
As for Burlington, the victory got them back to even at 2-2. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the contest before.
On Burlington's side, Sayler Wall was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jasmin Robles, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holyoke will welcome Sterling at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Burlington, they will be playing at home against Lamar at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
