Soccer Game Preview: Tippecanoe vs. Belmont

The Tippecanoe Red Devils will take on the Belmont Bison in a tournament on Tuesday. Tippecanoe is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 5.1 goals per game this season.

Tippecanoe's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. Everything went their way against Greenville as they made off with a 9-0 win. Given Tippecanoe's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 59th, while Greenville are ranked 540th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tippecanoe's offense was hitting Greenville from everywhere, as eight different players booted in a goal. Cameron Smith led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Belmont's game on Saturday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Piqua 1-0. The win continues a trend for Belmont in their matchups with Piqua: they've now won four in a row.

Belmont's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Tippecanoe, their win bumped their record up to 15-1-2.
