Basketball Recap: Karns City Drops Highest Score of Season Against Union

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Karns City). They blew past the Union Knights/Damsels 79-30 on Tuesday. With the Gremlins ahead 43-17 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Despite the loss, Union still got an impressive performance from Maddy Dehart, who went 7-for-17 on her way to 19 points and five rebounds. What's more, Dehart also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2024.

Karns City is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.9 points over those games. As for Union, they dropped their record down to 4-17 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Karns City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Union, they will be playing at home against Keystone at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Keystone will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Union surely won't give up without a fight.
