Baseball Recap: South Cobb Eagles vs. Lithia Springs Lions
South Cobb was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Lithia Springs Lions, falling 16-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-2 last Tuesday.
South Cobb saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Arturo Casas, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.
South Cobb's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Lithia Springs, their win ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Cobb will welcome New Faith Christian Academy at 5:55 p.m. on Monday. As for Lithia Springs, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Lions take on the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
