Softball Recap: Malcolm Clippers vs. Centura Centurions

Malcolm extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 14-15. They lost 13-1 to the Centura Centurions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Centurions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-5 on Friday.

Malcolm saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace Green, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

As for Centura, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-7. Considering they have won 14 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

On Centura's side, Calleigh Sundberg was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Sundberg has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Centura got a massive performance out of Lauren Suntych, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. Emma Jacobs was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles.

As of now, neither Malcolm nor Centura have any future games scheduled.
