Shenandoah Valley is still winless after their game against Pine Grove on Friday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 28-26 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cardinals. On the bright side, the 26- point effort marked the Blue Devils' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Shenandoah Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Gene Sinkus and Joel Nunez. Sinkus picked up 109 receiving yards and one TD, while Nunez picked up 48 receiving yards and one touchdown. Sinkus got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 57 yards.

Logan Troup went supernova For Pine Grove., rushing for 148 yards while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards Troup has posted since back in September of 2024. Wyatt Snyder was in the mix as well, providing Pine Grove with two scores.

Shenandoah Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Pine Grove, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Shenandoah Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 14-6 defeat against Nativity BVM on the 26th. As for Pine Grove, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 22-20 loss against Mahanoy Area on the 26th.
