Preview: Youngsville Eagles vs. Maplewood Tigers
Youngsville is 0-10 against Maplewood since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Youngsville Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Maplewood Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Youngsville is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
On Monday, Youngsville lost to Cochranton at home by a decisive 44-26 margin.
Meanwhile, Maplewood scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They took down Hickory 58-42. Given Maplewood's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while Hickory is ranked 492nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Youngsville has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Maplewood, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.
Youngsville was taken down by Maplewood 49-11 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Youngsville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
