Recap: Palmer Ridge Bears vs. Discovery Canyon Thunder
You can't lose the matchup if you win every quarter, and that was precisely the Palmer Ridge Bears's strategy against the Discovery Canyon Thunder on Wednesday. Palmer Ridge strolled past Discovery Canyon with points to spare, taking the game 62-45. That's two games straight that Palmer Ridge has won by exactly 17 points.
Among those leading the charge was Delanie Mcmullen, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Taylor Peterson, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and five assists.
When it comes to explaining why Discovery Canyon lost, one person who can't be blamed is Meghan Storch. Despite the final result, she scored 21 points along with five steals. It was the first time this season that Storch scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Hulse, who scored 11 points.
The win (which was Palmer Ridge's third in a row) raised their record to 12-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points per game. As for Discovery Canyon, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-11.
Palmer Ridge will take on Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Palmer Ridge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Discovery Canyon, they will head out on the road to take on Air Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Air Academy will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Discovery Canyon surely won't give up without a fight.
