Recap: Birmingham Patriots vs. Crenshaw Cougars
With a playoff game on the line, the Birmingham Patriots rose to the challenge on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 76-62 victory over the Cougars. The victory was nothing new for Birmingham as they're now sitting on ten straight.
Birmingham had a senior duo take command as Samantha Velasquez scored 18 points along with three steals and Devyn Berry scored 14 points along with five assists and two steals. Velasquez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie E. lopez, who scored seven points along with nine assists.
Birmingham has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season. As for Crenshaw, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-9.
Birmingham will take on King/Drew at TBD on Saturday. Birmingham has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 635 points over their last nine matchups. Crenshaw does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
