Soccer Recap: Garfield Comes Up Short

Garfield lost against Rootstown back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The G-Men came up short against the Rovers, falling 12-0. While losing is never fun, Garfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 587th, while Rootstown are ranked 198th).

Garfield's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Rootstown, they pushed their record up to 10-3-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Garfield is taking a road trip to face off against Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Rootstown, they will host Smithville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
