Baseball Game Preview: Academy of Richmond County Musketeers vs. Baldwin Braves

The Academy of Richmond County Musketeers will take on the Baldwin Braves at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither Academy of Richmond County nor Baldwin posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Last Thursday, Academy of Richmond County came up short against Augusta Christian and fell 5-2. The Musketeers have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Jackson Evans made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI. Spence Perry also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Baldwin's offense. They came up short against Johnson County on Monday, falling 11-0.

Academy of Richmond County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Baldwin, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 3-10.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Academy of Richmond County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Baldwin struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Academy of Richmond County took their victory against Baldwin when the teams last played back in March of 2019 by a conclusive 8-2. Does Academy of Richmond County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Baldwin turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
