Preview: Northwest Area Rangers vs. Blue Ridge Raiders
The Northwest Area Rangers will head out on the road to face off against the Blue Ridge Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwest Area will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Northwest Area has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 39 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Hanover Area 58-19 at home. With Northwest Area ahead 39-13 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Karsyn Miner and Jordin Bowman were among the main playmakers for Northwest Area as the former scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists and the latter scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and seven steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Miner has scored at least 25% of Northwest Area's points. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Hermanofski, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Blue Ridge took their match at home on December 2nd with ease, bagging a 52-22 win over Sayre. The win made it back-to-back wins for Blue Ridge.
Northwest Area's record is now 4-2. Blue Ridge's record now sits at 2-0.
Northwest Area came up short against Blue Ridge in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, falling 48-38. Can Northwest Area avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
