Baseball Recap: Jackson County Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After flying high against Gainesville last Friday, Jackson County came back down to earth. The Jackson County Panthers took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Franklin County Lions on Wednesday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2020.

Bryce Garrison made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Jackson County is 2-1 when Garrison posts two or more runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Ollie Tingelhoff also deserves some recognition as he stole his first stolen base of the season.

Jackson County's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 runs over those games. As for Franklin County, their record is now 6-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers take on the Jaguars at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Franklin County, they will take on Jefferson at 5:55 p.m. on Friday.
