Softball Recap: Spalding Comes Up Short

Spalding blew Crawford County out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Crawford County got their revenge. The Jaguars fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Jaguars have suffered since September 4, 2024.

Ra'Khiya Duffie was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Hallie Cline, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Spalding dropped their record down to 9-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Crawford County, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Coming up, Spalding will be playing at home against Trinity Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jaguars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Crawford County, they will head out to face off against Marion County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
