Baseball Recap: Rutland Starts Season with Win Against Twiggs County

Rutland took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Twiggs County Cobras a 15-0 shutout.

Kyle Howard was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Kendarious Gilbert, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Rutland will have a chance to go back-to-back against Twiggs County: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
